milk glass maniacs

We have an obsession with milk glass, yes, milk glass. What the heck is milk glass you ask?
Alicia once told her boyfriend, "I'm coming home with the coolest milk glass finds"...
his response, "I thought you were bringing me something to dunk my oreos in."
sigh.
Milk glass, or "opal glass", was first made in 16th century Venice and has been revamped in several different ways. You can find milk glass dinnerware, lamps, vases, and even jewelry in a variety of colours, but our favourite is the milky white in which the name "milk glass" was coined after.

Our 1950s milk glass compote has a beautiful flower leaf design, petite hobnails, and scalloped rim that make this piece perfect for displaying your tasty treats. Don't those strawberries look amazing?

A unique way to use these milk glass vases is to actually display them as planters around your home. The crisp white glass really makes your plants pop! And the hobnails, oh the hobnails!
Anyways, we could gush all day about milk glass and hobnails and scallops, but if you want to check out some real die-hard milk glass lovers, there is a national milk glass collectors society who know everything there is to know about this fantastic opaque glass.

Milk glass compote $12
Milk glass planter $8
